What VLESS is
VLESS is a modern stateless protocol built by the Xray/V2Ray team. Unlike VMess, VLESS has no built-in encryption and no timestamp — that makes it faster, and combined with the right transport (Reality, TLS) it is indistinguishable from regular HTTPS traffic for DPI systems.
Why VLESS
- Reality — a transport that "steals" a real TLS handshake of a popular site (e.g. microsoft.com). To your ISP it looks like a normal visit to that site.
- gRPC and WebSocket — let you disguise traffic as a regular API call and even route through a CDN (Cloudflare).
- Speed — without double encryption (TLS already encrypts), VLESS keeps almost all the bandwidth.
- Cross-platform — clients for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android and routers.
